What a weekend for our ponies at the 2006 Northwest Sport Horse Breeders' Classic held September 8-10, 2006! Evans Providence of the Night did an outstanding job taking the USDF/USEF Dressage Sport Horse Breeders Finals Reserve Grand Champion Stallion! He did it with an average score of 75% (71% and 79% combined) He was also awarded Champion Hunter Pony Stallion and was in the top 5 in the Materiale Horse Classes with scores in the 70's! His little sister, Evans Marianna was 4th in USDF/USEF DSHB yearling filly class and Reserve Champion Young Hunter Pony. These two also took our wonderful foudation mare and their dam, Evans Bram Stoker to the winner's circle by placing FIRST in the Produce of Dam Class!!!
8-30-2006: We just added new pictures of our up and coming star, Evans Asher (*Wedderlie Maradonna X *Telyanu Regina), 2005 Section B Colt.
8-28-2006: We are very excited to have added 2 new wonderful mares to our farm! The first, is Madoc Smiles. A BEAUTIFUL Section B grey mare with a lovely, old pedigree. Next is the imported, classy filly, *Priestwood Porceline who is out a mare who is a full sister to the Champion *Carolina's Red Fox LOM. We are very excited to see what these mares will produce for us!
8-24-2006: The season just keeps on rolling! At the 2006 Northwest Welsh Classic, our 2 Evans ponies did an incredible job! International Supreme and Riding Champion Evans Providence of the Night stole the show, taking DOUBLE SUPREME CHAMPION, Reserve Champion Sport Pony and English Pleasure Division Champion. Our wonderful filly, Evans Marianna did well too. Taking Double firsts in the Section B Yearling and Under Class, Junior Champion Section B filly and Grand Champion Sport Pony, beating out her half brother for the title!
8-13-2006: We have had a wonderful spring and summer here at Mt. Dragon Welsh! We are updating the foal page, please go and take a look! We have had some outstanding foals this year!
Our show ponies have been doing wonderful both in the Welsh and Dressage Ring! Our wonderful stallion, International Supreme and Riding Champion Evans Providence of the Night has done an OUTSTANDING job! His last 2 DSHB USDF/USEF Shows, he has won his class and has been pinned Mature Champion Stallion and Reserve Champion Mature Stallion. This also includes a neck shash that qualified him for the finals! He has been doing great in the Materiale Class 4/5 year old Stallion and Gelding Class the past 2 outings, coming home with a blue and red ribbon! He has done outstanding also in the Welsh Ring, taking home Supreme or Reserve Supreme Champion every outing. On top of that, he has taken home more championships under saddle both in the Welsh and Open ring. Evans Marianna has done well also in the DSHB classes, coming home the past two shows with 2 second place finishes! She is doing wonderful for such a late yearling. We welcome home two of our ponies just imported from Wales! *Bronheulog Armani, an outstanding Section B stallion who we are just thrilled with! He comes to us with an OUTSTANDING show record from the UK. We are expecting his first foals in 2007 out of our best mares! Please E-mial us if you are interested in reserving a foal. 7-10-2006: Welcome to your new home *Kenwood Princess Royal. We are very grateful to Maurice of the Kenwood Stud for giving us the opportunity to own this lovely filly. Thanks to Maurice, she comes to us with a wonderful show record earned Internationally.

5-8-2006: This morning, Mrs Kathleen Rawls, Breeder and Owner of Mt. Dragon Welsh Ponies announced a Joint Venture with Mr. Rolf Stoylen, Owner of Post Hill Farm LLC, recently relocated from Newberry , FL to Newnan , GA. Post Hill Farm will become the East coast marketing arm of Mt. Dragon Ponies, starting May 15, 2006. "We plan on sending our best stock to Post Hill Farm so we can get the exposure for our Evans' type ponies that we need in riding, showing and selling" said Mrs. Rawls. "We can easily show the East coast market how, at such a young age, Mt. Dragon's Evans' type Welsh ponies are bred for children and young Welsh performance ponies aren't usually child safe for years" said Rolf Stoylen of Post Hill Farm. "We look forward to always having a well rounded selection of Mt. Dragon ponies here in South Atlanta at Post Hill Farm's new location in Newnan , Georgia , just 35 minutes south of Atlanta 's Hartsfield International Airport ". Mrs. Rawls currently sells her Registered Sections A, B and C's on the West coast and has won numerous awards throughout the years. Their huge success on the West coast with Unbridled Oaks, as her marketing agent there makes sense and the marketing of her ponies on the East coast market through Post Hill Farm with their 4, small in stature trainers, riders and with them catering only to pony clients made sense also. "We are way behind England , Wales and Ireland in teaching our children complete horsemanship because we take them off of ponies too soon" said Linda Barton, the Marketing Manager for http://www.welshponiesforsale.com, the Joint Ventures new web site, which will roll out on June 15th, 2006 . "Why not make the best of your child's young riding career, whether it is for pleasure or serious showing with a well bred Welsh, that's sole purpose for being bred was to be safe for your child" Ms. Barton commented. Post Hill Farm is a supporter of NAYRC and will help the not so privileged child rider attain a good retired, in some cases, show pony to ride for special goals. Their US Retired Show Pony Foundation will start to advertise available ponies for this purpose, starting in 2007.
5-2-2006: We are VERY excited to announce the arrival of our first 2006 foal! A BEAUTIFUL Section B Colt, Evans Marcus (*Hilin Trysor X *Llanarth Queen of Spain). He is a wonderful colt, an image of his sire. This is the second foal from this golden cross, and we couldn't be anymore happier!
4-25-2006: Champion *Friar's Sooty will be standing at Stone Country Farm for a limited time to Canadian Breeders. He will be shown and promoted by Suzanne Bryson and we wish them luck for the 2006 show season.
4-20-2006: Evans Ponies did a wonderful job promoting the breed on the 15th at the WSH "B" Rated show in Spokane, WA. Evans Johnny Black (Bristol Victorio x Woodridge Legacy) took first in the Open breed 3 and under class and went on to be pinned Over All Champion Halter horse against many breeds. International Supreme and Riding Champion Evans Providence of the Night had a WONDERFUL performance under saddle, taking two firsts, a second and the Reserve Championship in the English Pleasure Championship class.
4-5-2006: Two Evans Ponies showed April Fools Weekend at the PEDS Schooling show. A wet and rainny weekend by the reports. It set back the under saddle performance from International Supreme and Riding Champion Evans Providence of the Night but he still did an outstanding job in the Sport Horse In hand Class by Winning the blue ribbon. His score was the highest of the day and made him Reserve Hight Point Halter Champion over all.
Evans Casino Royale (Glynmagic Last Illusion X *Llanarth Queen of Spain)Section B gelding did very well under saddle, taking a second out of 5 horses and a third out of six. Casino even took a novice in to halter and they were awarded a 3rd out of 7.
3-20-2006: International Supreme and Riding Champion Evans Providence of the Night made his 2006 first show ring entrance at the IEQHA Schooling Show. He was shown in 3 classes and they were good sized. The placings are the following:
2nd - Green English Pleasure Horse Open (15 in the class)
4th - English Pleasure Open (24 in the class)
4th - English Pleasure Open - Non color - Just means no horses of color allowed to show (26 in the class)

3-15-2006: Spring Expectations - We look forward to watching Evans ponies, both our own and those owned by others in the show ring this year. Evans Johnny Black (Bristol Victorio x Woodridge Legacy) owned by Melanie and Joel Pritchert of Thornehill Farms will make his debut in the ring. Johnny's full sister, Evans Bram Stoker is one of our premiere broodmares. We are expecting a full sibling this foaling season. Good luck JB.
1-9-2006: WPCSA Awards are in! International Supreme and Riding Champion Evans Providence of the Night was awarded 5th Nationally in the High Score and NW Region Reserve Champion Section B Stallion. He went UNDEFEATED in the Section B 3/4 year old classes in 2005 and also won his Riding Championship under english tack. We look forward to seeing him in the show ring again under English and Western. We are expecting a full sibling to Maximus this year! Check out the 2006 Foals for more information. We are very exicted to announce that Evans Marianna, 2005 Section B filly sired by the late International Champion *Wedderlie Maradonna will be shown. Check out the rest of the show string for 2006!

The capable team of veterinaries at Double Arrow Clinic have made this possible with the purchase of "Gertrude" the pony sized phantom mare. The stallions will be collected at the Double Arrow clinic by Dr. Randy Greenshields, who evaluates the semen and readies it for shipment.
This presents the mare owner with an extraordinary stable of stallions to chose from, including our beloved senior herd-sire, Bristol Victorio.
